X model with animations looking for a home

Post by dhenton9000 »

I've got an animation file in X format derived from blender that I would like to find a home for.

I was wondering if anyone knew of model repository sites that I might be able to send it to. I've seen some for mod/models sites for quake and all, but I'm stuck in X format and I'd doubt if this would work well for a death match game. Not enough blood and/or too much clothing.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

wanna give it away or sell ?

Sell is hard

Give away, maybe think about this : ppl more interested in x format are :

- Darkbasic Pro comunity (www.dbpro.com)

- 3drad comunity ( 3drad.com)

- Quest3d comunity quest3d.com

- Truevision 3d comunity www.truevision3d.com

- gamestudio comunity conitec.net

- Urgh engine http://www.urgh.cjb.net/

- Blitzbasic comunity (as many users have bough Ultimate Unwrap, which convert x animations to b3d animations) www.blitzbasic.com codersworkshop.com

if I remember well, all this import *.x full bones and weights character animations, if i am not wrong. One thing that can do is hope some of this, one of this, may give you site space for hosting it. Try very firs in DBpro comunity, show screens and that you'd give away if someone host it, and put clear it's gonna be downloaded from other comunities (for bandwidth etc, and also for ppl know is a known and used mesh, not unique for their games...)

that model would work fine in a FPS.

In fact something with twice as much poly and three times the clothing/textures would also.. look at any professional game and you'll see that.

models havent been that low poly since halflife.

well, not in FPSs, but maybe yes in more crowded ones like strategy or rol games with many players at once in screen, or too far from the camera to actually care...

Hey, that's nice. If you want' I can take this model and use it in one of the new Irrlicht tutorials. I'm slowly getting sick of the md2 models all the time ;)
