Ok i finished the challenge "follow the leader". Weird that we can't beat him but whatever , maybe you should make it clearer to those dumb idiots like me. Something "keep close to the leader" instead of "follow the leader", I dunno.

There is an error in the French translation "unlocked" => "déverrouillé" and not "déverouillé".
Also I've discovered another bug, try setting startup penalty to 0 ^^ I wanted to take a screen of it but Print screen doesn't work and there is no bind to take a screenshot in the game. This is an important feature so that people can show you bugs.

Btw, I've just discovered the "steep turn", makes things easier indeed ^^

Actually I think "follow the leader" is better to use, since "keep close to the leader" could be also in front.

Thanks about the french translation issue report, I fixed it. :)

Regarding setting penalty time to 0, can you clarify what you mean?

About features/game rules you didn't know about, we will eventually add a tutorial. But meanwhile there is the help screen ;)

That's where a screenshot feature would have come in handy. In fact when I set it to 0, the "you get a 1 second penalty" or so is repeated a dozen of times at the same time towards the bottom of the screen. I can send you my xml config if you can't reproduce that bug.

don't bother with a tutorial, everybody has played mariokart already and the game is not complicated. Eventually, I always check controls to see if I miss some exotic control and I guess everyone does that. It just took me longer than usual :)

I hate it when I press the acceleration key at the beginning :\
Maybe you could make the warning show first (instead of nothing at the start of the race(before it starts counting)) and only after it's finished showing the warning check for acceleration key press and apply the penalty.

Penalty is no problem, just use metronome like me.

The sound before start of race, that counts time to start, have tempo of 60bpm.
So, I am setting my metronome to 240bpm and using 4/4 metre.
First beat is accented, then three next beats sounds normal, then again one beat is accented and then three next sounds normal.

You have to start metronome at the moment of the first "ding".
This is what you will hear:

supertuxkart: ding (pause) | ding (pause) | ding (GO!)
metronome: DING ding ding ding | DING ding ding ding | DING

You will precisely hear when the race will start, so just press accelerate button on 8th ding.

I am using this method and it works perfectly.

Thanks for once again mentioning the "sharp turn" button and not identifying which key it is ? The"help" menu also makes this acknowledgement and then does not tell you which key it is. Apparently the new .7 is much better at corners without needing the "sharp turn" button. Well this is good, considering know one seems to know where this button is!

terryeh, we don't mention which one it is because it's configurable. you can go in the options menu to see your current bindings
