Network programming

Hi,
i wanted to programm my own network traffic monitor just to get into all these things. has anyone any ideas how to do that?

is there no one here who can recommend me some websites/tutorials?

Try raknet. I've heard its really good, and from looking at the many samples they provide you, it seems pretty easy. I have not personally tried implementing it yet, but I will soon.
