Hardware instancing patch... please can we get it in 1.8.0??

Not going to happen before Irrlicht 2.0, as stated before. So don't hold your breath, there will be some official releases in between. If you want FVF, use the branch.

so any chances this patch could be integrated in irrlicht in the next version until we get to the fvf?

A modified version of this is in my irrlicht fork, with attribute divisors
We chose to stream mesh data from Multiple OpenGL Contexts in many threads and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard! - JFK
